Kingsley Arrests Use County Systems
Kingsley is the county's second incorporated place. The cited 2020 Census table lists 1,431 residents. The Village of Kingsley 2025 Master Plan says the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Department provides village police services. A community police officer covers Paradise Township, Kingsley, and Mayfield Township from offices at 2300 East M-113. The plan also notes oversight from the Michigan State Police Traverse City post.
That overlap shapes the record trail. A sheriff deputy may write the arrest report. The Grand Traverse County Correctional Facility adds a booking record when someone is lodged. A court opens the case register. State Police may hold the incident report when a trooper handled the event. A county jail entry does not reveal which agency made the arrest.
Where Kingsley Recent Arrests Appear
Kingsley has no stand-alone police roster, bulletin, or mugshot feed. Official county sources lead because custody and jail records sit in one place.
| Source | Purpose | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Inmate inquiry | Current county custody | Not a historical Kingsley log |
| MI-VINE | Eligible status and alerts | Fresh intake can lag |
| Sheriff FOIA | Maintained sheriff and booking files | A focused request works best |
| Court routes | Case progress and outcome | Not current custody |
| Regional news | Selected events | Unofficial and incomplete |
The roster can omit someone cited and released, transferred, housed elsewhere, or not yet processed. Read each result within its stated scope.
No Kingsley Arrest Blotter
The village publishes no arrest blotter. Filling that gap with an unofficial statewide page is a mistake. No verified list promises every Kingsley arrest by date. The county inquiry checks current lodging, not a complete village history after release.
Agency identity matters, because each office keeps its own piece. The incident report follows the arresting agency. Jail intake follows the custodian, and court filings follow the case. One missing search result settles nothing.
Locate Someone Arrested in Kingsley
Search with a full legal name, a rough date, and any known agency. The county Police Blotter discussion explains wider-window limits.
- Search the official inmate inquiry for current county custody.
- Use MI-VINE for an eligible check or release and transfer notice.
- Confirm whether the Sheriff, State Police, or another agency handled the event.
- Request the booking record or photo from the Sheriff after county lodging.
- Review district or circuit court records for the outcome.
Arrest, offense, and booking dates can all differ. Transport or a late-night event may push intake into the next day, and a warrant booking can occur without a new offense that day.
Note: No result can reflect release, transfer, a different custodian, delay, or a spelling mismatch rather than no arrest.
Kingsley Sheriff Arrest Records
The Sheriff FOIA page lists online, fax, and mail request routes. The Sheriff generally gets five business days. A fee may apply. Notice comes first if an estimate tops $50.

Name Kingsley, a date range, and the record wanted. Incident report, booking card, and photo are separate items. A State Police arrest keeps its incident report with State Police, while a county jail record stays with the Sheriff. The county photo section explains the official request route.
Kingsley Booking Dates and Custody
The public portal answers current custody, not every Kingsley booking. It is no proven archive. It can go dark without notice. The records line and the FOIA process become the key fallbacks. A live result may show less than the inmate file behind it. That file can hold intake, photo, bond, court, and release or transfer material.
- Arresting agency
- The office whose officer made the arrest.
- Custodian
- The jail or agency holding the person.
- Booking date
- The jail admission date, which can differ from arrest.
- Disposition
- The court’s later resolution.
A person released from custody drops off the roster, though the booking and court records still stand. Some Kingsley arrest cases end in a state sentence instead. Those people appear in the Michigan Department of Corrections OTIS system, not on the county jail list.
Kingsley Arrest Coverage Is Selective
Big stories out of Kingsley sometimes reach regional news. 9&10 News, UpNorthLive, Traverse Ticker, and the Record-Eagle all report from Grand Traverse County, but none offers a full blotter. A story can also lag behind the actual court record as a case moves. The commercial mugshot sites are thinner here. Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.zone list no Grand Traverse local section. Mugshots.com keeps an old county page spanning roughly 2014 to 2020, and it cannot confirm who is in custody right now.
After a Kingsley Arrest
After a Kingsley arrest, a few things can happen next. The person may stay at the correctional facility, post bond, be released, or transfer elsewhere. MI-VINE tracks eligible custody events, though the jail itself should confirm anything time-sensitive. District court handles the early proceedings, circuit court covers matters in its jurisdiction, and the final disposition shows how the case actually ended.
Note: Verify the arresting agency, current custodian, and court separately before relying on a name match or old report.
Kingsley Arrest Timing Has Limits
Grand Traverse County promises no posting clock for new entries. Weekends get no stated exception. A search made right after an encounter can precede transport, acceptance, or web indexing. A later one may miss someone released. When custody matters now, call Corrections. Once an event moves past the live roster, save the search time and send a dated, focused records request.
MI-VINE fills a different role. Grand Traverse County says its local participation supplies custody status, including eligible release, transfer, and escape events, not a complete court-status service. Registration helps when custody may change. A newly processed booking can take time to enter the system. Court questions belong with the 86th District Court or 13th Circuit Court, depending on the stage and type of case.
Kingsley Court Records Continue
The 86th District Court handles arraignments, misdemeanors, and bond activity. A felony bound over moves up to the 13th Circuit Court. That court's public criminal search covers felonies only. Misdemeanors stay out of it. The county warns about limits. Its public search will not show every case under Public Act 193 of 2020. Juvenile, sealed, set-aside, and other protected records may be absent too. A blank result proves nothing.
Records can outlast public display. Michigan General Schedule 11 defines retained record families. Inmate jackets, booking cards, mug shots, bonds, warrants, and release or transfer material all count. The live portal does not promise that history. A dated, person-specific Sheriff request may surface what a roster search cannot. Retention still allows lawful exemptions and court restrictions on release.
